Cobb County schools and WellStar are partnering to promote not only the physical but the academic development of young children.
The Cobb County School District has partnered with Wellstar Pediatrics to create an early literacy initiative designed to inform parents of the importance of establishing early reading habits. This initiative will provide parents at participating WellStar pediatric offices with tools and resources to support the development of early reading skills. Parents will receive a postcard with tips and links to appropriate books and videos that demonstrate how to begin reading with your child starting at birth through age 5. It is our hope that the partnership will expand to include many offices and ultimately reach all parents. We know the importance of partnering with the pediatric community to address not only the physical development but the academic development of our children. This initiative in one that will allow us to begin to ensure that all children enter kindergarten ready to learn. To view the parent videos, please CLICK HERE.
