McEachern High School’s top artists show off their talents in a show for the entire community to enjoy.
POWDER SPRINGS – The City of Powder Springs is pleased to announce that the Gallery at Powder Springs’ latest installment will feature the work of McEachern High School AP Art and Pre-AP Students. The new exhibit will be open to the public on May 8, 2017. Stated AP Art Instructor, Danielle Mege: “Advanced Placement Studio Art is an opportunity for high school students to challenge their artistic and creative talent to the max. In one school year, students create a portfolio consisting of twenty-four artworks that will be scored by AP Readers from the College Board. Painting II is sometimes called “Pre-A.P.” Students in the Painting II course at McEachern get the opportunity to watch the A.P. Seniors develop their portfolios each day in class. The two courses work together focusing on class critiques and mentorship.” There will be a reception for the student’s exhibit on May 9th from 7-8 p.m. at the Gallery at Powder Springs located at 4488 Pineview Dr. The Gallery at Powder Springs is part of the new public art initiative and a partnership between the City of Powder Springs and the South Cobb Arts Alliance. The Gallery at Powder Springs is free and open to the public Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. For more information about the Gallery at Powder Springs visit www.cityofpowdersprings.org.
