ETA was proud to train K-5 teachers at both Allatoona and Pebblebrook high schools on July 26th, 2017 as part of the half-day Learning Engagement Institute.
Teachers were engaged in the “sold out” professional learning opportunity brought to them through Michelle Mikes, Math Supervisor and ETA Hand to Mind trainers. It was a powerful message to teachers about using manipulatives as part of the experience to train teachers while they became students themselves for the afternoon. This modeling ensures teachers are able to take experiences back into their own classrooms where student achievement and interest will rise as a result of the training.
This was one of 615 sessions experienced by K-12 teachers, counselors, media specialists, school psychologists and others as part of a district-wide training before students return for the 2017-2018 school year.
