Walton High School Art Teacher, Kathleen Petka, has been named Wildlife Forever’s 2017 State-Fish Art Educator of the Year!
Through her students’ annual participation in the State-Fish Art Contest, supported by the U.S Forestry Service among other conservation organizations, Mrs. Petka has educated her students about the importance of our conservation of natural resources. Mrs. Petka’s students have participated in the State-Fish Art Contest since 2009 with numerous state winners. This national award is given to educators who communicate the spirit of conservation to students though excellence in visual arts education. Along with her award, Ms. Petka also receives a $500 gift card for classroom art supplies from the award’s sponsor, Triarco Arts & Crafts.
