State and District leadership visit the University of Georgia.
On Friday, March 2, 2018, a group of State and District counseling leaders met with current University of Georgia and Louisiana State University students. The team consisted of Department of Education representative Dawn Mann; Atlanta Public Schools Counseling Supervisor, Maria Grovner; Fulton County Counseling Supervisor, Tessa Barbazon; Cobb County Counseling Supervisor, Gail Smith; and Cobb County Counseling Consultant, Melisa Marsh. The team was invited by UGA professor, George McMahon and LSU professor, Stephanie Eberts. Masters level counseling students were able to participate in a panel discussion regarding the current growth and trends in the field of School Counseling. They were also given the opportunity to meet the panel and ask individual questions. The counseling leaders look forward to continuing their collaborative work while supporting up and coming school counselors.
