College and Career Ready Students at Palmer Middle School

Palmer Middle School counselors prepare students and parents for the future.

Palmer Middle School counselors, Barbara Truluck and Lauren Holland, supported their school’s AVID Parent Night hosting more than 200 families.  In collaboration with Cobb County’s AVID Coordinator and AVID teachers, they presented exciting and important information to help students and families be college and career ready. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination and is a direct support structure for students’ academic and career success. AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.  Barbara Truluck presented sessions on NCAA Recruiting Information for Student Athletes and Lauren Holland presented sessions on Georgia’s Dual Enrollment program.
