Pope HS Orchestra a Featured Performer at GMEA Conference

The Pope High School Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Corie Benton, was selected as a featured performance ensemble at the Georgia Music Educators Association In service Conference in Athens, Georgia on Saturday, January 26, 2019.

As one of only two school orchestras selected, the Pope Orchestra performed works by Saint-Georges, Walker, Grieg, Atterburg, and Lavender as well as a piece arranged by Walton HS Orchestra director Dr. Perry Holbrook.  The orchestra also featured soloists and coaches Jessica Stinson and Sherrod Mitchell, who work regularly with the students at Pope High School.

The students, soloists and conductor performed with grace, musicality, and skill and truly represented the CCSD music programs in excellent fashion!
