Griffin MS Learns the Stock Market!
Mrs. Yost’s Introduction to Business and Technology participated this year in The Stock Market Game™ The game is a program of The SIFMA Foundation and made available through the Georgia Council for Economic Education. It is an online simulation of the global capital markets that engages students in the world of economics, investing and personal finance. Students were allowed to form teams of either three or five students per team. Each team was given $100,000 to invest online over ten weeks. Teams competed against other schools statewide as well as within their congressional district. At the end of ten weeks, the team with the highest valued portfolio would win. The Congressional District 13 title was awarded to Griffin Middle School. Griffin’s all-female winning team included Aalyah Ramirez, Logan Parker, and Alexandra Lindberg. Winners were honored at an awards luncheon at the Egyptian Ballroom at the Fabulous Fox Theatre.
