Cobb Horizon celebrates all students post-secondary plans.
On April 24, 2019, Cobb Horizon High School hosted their first Signing Day event. A play on “signing days” for future college athletes, this Signing Day was focused on the various post-secondary options available to students. Whether students are pursuing a two-year, four-year, or technical college degree/certification, joining the military, or entering the workforce, Cobb Horizon wanted their students to feel supported and encouraged to take their next step toward achieving their post-secondary goals.
What started as a casual event celebrating the future endeavors of the soon-to-be May graduates, ended with an exchange of heartfelt memories and joyful tears. The day was filled with parent and student testimonies, tasty treats, and an inspirational message from Mr. Kit Cummings, the creator of the Power of Peace Project.
The school counseling team of Ebony Payno, Mandy Moody, and Keeva Hollinhead are not only thrilled to see their students earn their high school diploma, but they also strive to motivate their students to keep writing their life’s story and take hold of their promising future that lies ahead.
