North Cobb High School’s SkillsUSA Chapter brings home big wins at the GA State Leadership Conference
The North Cobb SkillsUSA Chapter had another banner showing during the March 21-23, 2019 SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference at the Georgia International Convention Center and Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway Hotel. North Cobb was recognized as a 2018-19 Silver Chapter of Distinction for the Chapter of Excellence Program. In various technical and leadership contests North Cobb earned three gold medals, three silver medals and one bronze medal in the following contest events:
Rola Goke-Pariola with Gerold Bellanton placed 1st for Business and Industry Video Production
Madeline Toombs and Kamryn Wingard placed 1st for Chapter Recruitment Video
Brady Goodwin and Joshua Jenkins placed 2nd for Digital Cinema
Janae Gray and Rahel Kefetew placed 2nd for Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Safety Display
Trystan Beach and Logan Brown placed 2nd for Mechanical Drafting Display
Chike Asuzu, Zion Fitch, Emily LaPierre, and Taylor Mason placed 3rd for Broadcast News Production
Patrick Duckett won his third consecutive SkillsUSA State Cabinetmaking Championship and will compete in the 2019 National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, KY this coming June. Patrick was 16th in 2017 then 5th in the nation last year.
