Work-Based Learning Students attend Cobb’s Rising Professional Summit

Work-Based Learning Students attend Cobb’s Rising Professional Summit; receive valuable life lessons and professional advice from local professionals.

Approximately 300 students attended Cobb’s Career, Technical and Agricultural Education Annual 2019 Rising Professionals Event, held on August 22 at the NorthStar Church.

Rising Professionals was open to all of the Cobb County School District’s Work-Based Learning and Youth Apprenticeship students.  The event kicked off with a keynote speaker, Mr. Benjamin Puckett, who is an author and former Osborne High School graduate.  Throughout the day students attended breakout sessions on a wide range of topics including leadership, employability skills, conflict resolution, and personal financial management.  Other activities included teamwork exercises, speed networking using their elevator pitch, and the “Professional Dress on a Budget,” Thrift Store Fashion Show.  2019 Rising Professionals was sponsored by Cobb EMC and Delta Community Credit Union.
