Kennesaw Business Association recognizes Allatoona Culinary Arts students.
On Saturday, November 2, 2019, the Kennesaw Business Association hosted the First Annual Taste of Kennesaw Bakeoff. The Kennesaw Business Association opened this event to community bakers and local high school Culinary programs. Allatoona, Kell, Kennesaw Mountain, and North Cobb were among the high schools submitting entries. Students competed in three categories: Pies and Pastries, Cookies and Bars, and Desserts. Three students from Allatoona High School submitted entries: Brianna McNairy with key lime pies, and Keaton Guevara and Lexi Oldham with an almond cake with orange citrus icing. After intense judging, Allatoona High School was awarded the 1st Place Prize for Pies and Pastries and the First Place Prize for Desserts. Allatoona’s Culinary program received two gorgeous marble cutting boards, two First Place ribbons, and two $100 checks from the Kennesaw Business Association. Chef Alejandro from Allatoona High School said, “We are very proud of our Culinary Bucs and plan to enter this event annually.”
