Smitha Middle School Business Education students participate in Shark Tank. Business Education course standards in Shark Tank project.
Smitha Middle School’s Business class recently partnered with Operation Hope/Wells Fargo. Every Monday over an eight-week journey, a guest speaker came in and spoke about creating a business. The class turned this concept into a giant Shark Tank project and wrapped it around business class standards! The movement caught momentum, and the class ended up receiving a $2,000 donation for student projects.
The students had to compose a business pitch, PowerPoint/Website showcasing their business and pass a preliminary round to enter the final “Shark Tank” round. Out of approximately 40 teams, 12 teams went to the finals. From those 12 teams, four will win a $500 grant to start their business and work with a business mentor for a year to see it come to life.
