Cobb/Paulding Regional Science Fair Breaks Record for Most Participants

The CCSD Science Department Welcomes Over 350 Students to the Cobb/Paulding Regional Science Fair.

Eager kindergarten through twelfth grade students from Cobb and Paulding counties filled the hallways of Smitha Middle School this past weekend with excitement and an eagerness to share their science fair projects for the 2020 Cobb/Paulding Regional Science Fair.  The CCSD Science Department hosted over 350 students from all grade levels which is the most participants that have ever registered for the event.  Students presented their Science Fair projects to groups of teachers and community/industry partners through interview style judging circles.

Middle and high school projects were judged using specific criteria set by the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair Committee.  In addition to an action-packed day of science fair project presentations, Mr. Ronnie Thomas with Fun Weird Science put on two science entertainment shows for students and their families that included amazing chemical demonstrations and audience participation.  At the conclusion of the day, award winners were announced for each grade level band in the theater.  You can view the results of the Cobb/Paulding Regional Science Fair on the CCSD Science Website at www.ccsdscience.com.
