The Science Department partnered with the Title I Office to host the CCSD Title I Elementary Science Olympiad this past Saturday at South Cobb High School. Twelve schools participated in events such as Crime Busters, Bridge Building, and Paper Rockets to showcase their science and engineering skills to earn points. Teams of two and three students competed in twelve different events throughout the morning.
After the competition was concluded and judges scored each event, Mr. Ron Anglin amazed the crowd of students and parents with his science juggling and variety show. At the end of the event, an awards ceremony was held in the South Cobb Theater to announce the event winners for 1st, 2nd, and 3rdplaces complete with a visit from the event sponsor, Cobb EMC’s mascot, Watson. A representative from Cobb EMC handed out bronze, silver, and gold medals to event winners and posed for pictures with families. It was a fantastic day and we are already looking forward to next year’s Title I Elementary Science Olympiad.
