Over 200 young musicians form the Cobb County School District received state’s highest honor for individual performance.
On Saturday, March 7, 2020 over 200 band and orchestra students from the Cobb County School District performed as part of the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) All-State Bands and Orchestras.
The GMEA All-State Bands and Orchestras are made up of the finest string, wind, and percussion students from across the state. This represents the highest level of accomplishment an individual student musician can achieve in the state of Georgia.
Beginning on Thursday evening, students from across the state who were selected by 2 rounds of competitive auditions rehearsed a full concert program after seeing the music for the first time. Led by internationally recognized conductors and music educators, they continued through Friday in preparation for Saturday’s performances.
We are so very proud of the incredible hard work and superior accomplishment by all of our young Cobb County musicians!
