Students create artwork to brighten the days of other children.
Selected fifth grade students at Big Shanty Intermediate had their artwork put into a coloring book and donated to the CHOA Scottish Rite’s Cancer Center. Mrs. Thompson wanted her students to understand the importance and impact sharing the visual arts can have on others.
She offered each and every 5thgrade student to opportunity to have their Zentangle project be selected to go into a coloring book that would be donated to the Cancer Center at Scottish Rite. This opportunity to share their art with other kids who are less well off than themselves excited and drove every student to put their best effort into their work. Mrs. Thompson was awed and humbled at the level of care and concern her students showed when offered this opportunity.
