Over 54 Cobb County schools participated in the virtual OPEN National Field Day on May 8th, 2020

Field Day is an important tradition in many of our Cobb County Schools.

Amid the “New Normal”, the Health and Physical Education Department thought it would be a great idea to maintain the anticipated tradition.

Participating in the virtual OPEN National Field Day was a unique and memorable way to celebrate fitness, families, and fun. Families were afforded the opportunity to stay connected as a community and support one another in a joyful and meaningful way.

The National Field Day events were designed to be done indoors or outdoors using common household items. Families shared pictures and videos participating in the variety of activities. A couple of notable mentions was a Cobb “Family Dance Challenge” YouTube video choreographed by Kelly Mattingly from Ford Elementary school and a “Cobb Torch Run” YouTube video produced by Lauren Mayer of Dowell Elementary School.  Experiencing great activities like the virtual OPEN National Field makes Cobb the best place to Teach Lead and Learn. We are Cobb!
