The ESOL/Title III/IWC team is providing remote support to students, families, and schools during the pandemic.
Virtual support sessions, hosted by CCSD Parent Resource Specialists, empower and inform parents of English Learners throughout the district.
The ESOL/Title III/IWC team has been working hard to support CCSD students, families, and schools during the pandemic. Our Parent Resource Specialists have been connecting with ESOL families using virtual support sessions on Zoom at convenient times. Topics are varied, ranging from helping parents navigate Parent VUE and CTLS Parent to sharing Resources to Support English Learner Success in School. We have had upwards of 100 parents actively participate!
Vani Acuragi, Parent Resource Specialist, hosted a session titled “All About ESOL” for parents in the Wheeler community. This session let families know what support the local school ESOL program would provide. Ms. Acuragi, who is trilingual, offered a Spanish and a Portuguese version of this presentation!
As part of CCSD’s commitment to Student Success, all CCSD schools have an assigned Parent Resource Specialist to help them engage parents of EL students in supporting their children’s success in school
